Hello! Welcome to my first blog, we’re getting right to the point. Nobody warns you about the age when you are not only influenced by what you see, but you actually go after becoming it. I don't know if this is a phase, but I want to be like a girl between the ages of 13&30 in a 2000s movie. It excites yet warms my heart at the same time, the way they don't worry about life, toss their phones in the trash after an unwanted message, take time to do things that make them feel relaxed, have niche hobbies, have a breakthrough moment, meet up with their girlfriends, do things to make life more fun like call their friends girlfriends or go for a walk in the park, listen to music in their rooms and dance like nobody is watching, aren’t afraid to socialize, romanticize life, and embrace the ups and downs of life like making a team or facing rejection. I could go on all day about how lovely those kind of ladies are. I think what makes them them is the fact that everything is low stakes. That excites me because everything is low-stakes with Jesus, since I don’t have to worry. About anything. Trying to become this way has not only changed me for the better, but has become a fun hobby and side quest. I made a bubbly music playlist (I will link it.) that makes me sway my hips and sing the lyrics loudly with confidence. I’ve started stretching for 10 minutes every morning using Lidia Mera’s (linked) stretch routine. She also has some for doing in pajamas. I’ve stopped overeating and eating processed foods. I’ve also started doing Lidia Mera’s no equipment (linked) Pilates routine before dinner everyday. I did Taebo for a while but Pilates is more relaxed and lowkey and just works better or me. I’ve been practicing the fruits of the spirit. I’ve been going to the library and getting non-fiction books. I’ve been getting up everyday, making me and my sister a mindful breakfast, and then changing our clothes and brushing our teeth instead of bed rotting like before. I’ve also developed a new night routine. I started a YouTube channel and I am taking it seriously. I’ve been doing VERY PRODUCTIVE research. I’ve been expressing my feelings and thoughts. I’ve been organizing my things. I’ve been planning activities for Halloween, thanksgiving, and Christmas season. I’ve been trying to become a role model for my little sister. And lastly, I’ve been talking to my lord, Jesus Christ. It made me realize that over the years I’ve convinced myself that being a girl meant being weak, vulnerable, and having messed up priorities like only caring about the way you look. There’s a quote I heard that may help you not to think that way. “ Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change” - Wayne Dyer. Instead of thinking about getting in shape as a punishment to your body for what you consume, think about it as treating your body as a temple and it will feel like self care and relax you. Instead of thinking about beauty and clothing as a competition between every female you meet and a way to keep you in a box, think about it as a way to reflect what’s on the inside of your heart and mind. For my Christian (young) ladies, Proverbs 27:19, “ As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.” - NIV. I used to feel in a way exposed when people saw me being “girly” because I thought they would label me as wanting to grow up too fast or they would see what it was that I liked and not like it/think I was stereotypical. Then I learned not only that I shouldn’t care, but I DON’T! Who’s business is it besides mine what I decide to do with my body and all of my possessions. I only grew when I learned to stop dressing so I would get compliments or be the best dressed in the room but to reflect my heart and the type of temple I choose to be. That’s actually something I want you to do. Whether you’re a girl or you happen to be a boy reading a blog called Luvvly Lady (you may not like the sign-off), open a new tab and search Pinterest. Search outfit and scroll until you find one that embodies the way you see the best version of yourself. My style is business casual and chic/y2k. I honestly just like cute pieces and will style them however with them being the centerpiece. I don’t want my clothes to be too tight because I want to be modest but Low-rise baggy jeans are my FAVORITE kind of jeans. They make my legs look long and they go with just about anything. I also am planning a trip to the mall because I want some new dresses. I don’t plan to wear them daily because I do too much moving at school and school is very unpredictable. I will wear them for church and special occasions because thank you Jesus that there has been lots of those recently and lots are coming up. I started pursuing this way of life over summer so I actually don’t know how it will hold up during the school year but I know that the lord wants me to be confident in my identity in Christ no matter what. Well, thats it for this blog! Before we exit one thing we will do every time is pray. I know you can’t close your eyes but I’ll type one for you and then pray over this and you. Jesus, I come to you today to thank you for letting me start a blog and making sure I have everything I need to start it. I thank you for my brother or sister on the other side of this blog who I thank greatly for reading all the way through and who I ask that you bless. I don’t know the reason why they chose to read this or what they will take from it but I ask that if there is anything I say that is not for them, you keep it from affecting them and that if they are reading this for a reason that your will be done and you have your way. I ask that your spirit be upon them and they learn to speak to you regularly and to do what you ask. I love you and I love them and you love them too. I thank you and praise you forever. In Jesus name, Amen! I will also link some ways to romanticize you life and just some resources that I think relate to this. Feel free to go through them. I love you Luvvly ladies, see you later!
